Life... and things

Hey fellas,

it's really fascinating how much I DON'T use this livejournal to talk about my life, but seriously, I'm such a stay-at-home nerd with a non-people streak that i've decided to actively do something for my social environment.

So... well, as most of you've seen (and a lot of you read THANKS!) I've made good of my New Year's resolution 'More Words' and wrote about a quarter of last year's total wordcount in the first two weeks of this one, which is... wow. I hope I can keep it up.

However, despite all the writing I want to do I have to consider that I'm at the end of my studies now and my time at university is not going to be much longer. Final exams are going to be in March and May and then I'll be done with my education and a real adult with a graduate degree and in want of a job. I've had almost a year of exams now for all three of my subjects, but time just flies like a banana and while I want to concentrate on getting my exams prepared thoroughly, I suddenly have to think about things like health insurrance, taxes, unemployment, funds... yeah. Scary prospect, but I'm also ready to get out of home and do something useful with my life.

Due to the fact that I do not really want to complete my rep as a teacher with the last one and a half years of school experience that I'd need to do I applied for the teaching assistant program to the US and after all the applications are through, there's little more than the acceptance of an American college standing between me and the leap across the pond from August. Scary prospect the second, since i've never been that far away from home in my entire life, alone or otherwise. But I think it's important for me to get out and the opportunity to go to America would be just the thing I need. So... yeah, hold thumbs flisties, I'm going yankee *lol*

Other than that... it's nine thirty at night and there's a brass band playing practically underneath my window. I wanna strangle some people.

Well... that's it... I'll try to ramble a bit more regularly from now on and oh, once candy is done with the beta, there's more bingo-fic coming your way. So stay tuned!
