...many things, actually. So this is a post comprised of posts that I've wanted to really put up over the past few weeks but never got around to and it basically contains an offer to talk about a myriad of fannish things that busied my brain in that time. You can answer to any, all or none of the posed topics and just tell me what's on your mind. (Beware, there might be spoilers for some things in the comments though I'll try and keep this entry skimming off the top)

So, talk to me about...

Go get the goodies... )

Summary:

Velocity is defined as the rate of change of position with respect to time.

The Winter Soldier doesn't move at a pace with the rest of the world, for him, time is either that much slower or that much faster. Until the events unfold that are unstoppable and call into question his very existence.

They start with one man.

Chapter One ~ Chapter Two ~ Chapter Three ~ Chapter Four ~ Chapter Five

A/N: So, finally cross-posting this here from AO3, man, writing this was a wild, wild ride. It started with one scene at the end and then I made up one for the beginning, but the middle... well it kinda ran away with me (only a little bit). I had a great time writing this, because so much inspiration and raw creative energy went into fandom once the Winter Soldier came out. I want to thank my dutiful beta, [livejournal.com profile] candygramme because she wrestles everything I throw at her into grammatically acceptable shape in no time flat. Also, thanks to all the amazingly talented authors who started writing fic about Bucky's recovery, mainly to sate my insane need for more, y'all thought about so much I never even considered and a lot of it made thought stuffs for this fic work.
I just wanted to say that everything fundamentally to vaguely scientific in this story from medical conditions via the topography of the US capital (although I've actually been there and took that walk) to the customs and practices of the American military is derived from abysmally cursory research, a hefty bit of logical extrapolation and a really good wallop of the good old completely-made-it-up-as-I-went-along mentality of artistic license. I hope those of you who know more forgive the glaring holes and rest assured that I did not mean to deliberately misrepresent anything or anyone.

... so many epic feels. Seriously, those Marvel boys are killing me right now. Don't get me wrong, I'm writing, and I love that I'm writing and the feeling that I got the characters down and a meaningful story to tell, but the scenes I've been at yesterday and today are giving me an empathetic hernia just thinking about them (and there goes the coherency in all that). There... I went and made myself cry over my own fucking writing and it's NOT EVEN THE GRAND DRAMATIC FINALE that I've been working towards ever since this story was conceived. Can somebody please yell in my ear and snap me out of it, so I can stop from sliding into a mushy fangirl puddle of whiny goo and finish this sucker?

... I know this is kinda stupid, but I just broke 20k on my Captain America - The Winter Soldier fic! This is the first time I've managed that on a story in about 2 1/2 years, and I just... I don't know, I just had to share the abiding sense of accomplishment that made me feel just now. That is all.
(Except if you want to cheer me on so I finish this tonight?)

I vote that all fandom has to go to 'The Avengers' (and asorted MCUs) for points on how to call your ships.

I mean... ThunderShield? FrostIron? Starbucks? Stark Spangled Banner (yes, even threesomes)?

(That is all, I just had to write that down somewhere or my head would have exploded from the internalized hilarity)
