Football's coming home...
Jul. 9th, 2014 12:29 am... yeah, you read right, I'm using LJ-post day to do a football post. I purposefully didn't watch until I heard the fireworks of the first goal, because if I watch purposefully our national team tends to lose their games (I was thinking about abstaining from the finale completely, but I don't have a that much inflated sense of my own importance to the universe) but I was really not prepared for what I witnessed tonight.
I just want to say that with all the analyzing and emoting and stuff going on right now, the thing that struck me most was how well all the players treated each other on the field and after the game, that was a true class act for both sides, especially in light of the stakes involved. That's true competitive spirit and commendable.
