...about Teen Wolf from last night, ...I mean HO FUCKING FUCKING FUCKETY FUCK. Last week was a doozy of a cliffhanger, but this? This was just sublime. STILES MY BABY WE WILL DEPOSSES YOU AND NOT KILL YOU THOUGH ARRRRRGH. I realized about two minutes before that epic fight we didn't see on screen and who the heck directed this thing, it was AWESOME. I always thought Stiles wasn't Norman Normal (though he still kinda is) and I can't even. Now we just need to get some reunion UST and I'm good.

It just vaulted the series to such a whole new level (actually the past couple of episodes did) and even though I'm not happy with some stuff (eternal love shuffle around, for instance, even though the chemistry is great between the new pairs, it's just so... highschool lovey dovey leavey... I'm too old for this shit and where is Derek's shirtless body when you need him?), I'm really really into the mythology expansion they're doing right now. It feels fresh and original and it's really really cool that they incorporate non-western supernatural cultures, just awesome stuff!

I have been loving this second half of the season but I have to tell you that it will really take a lot to get me to continue watching if they kill off Stiles!

Oh, they're not going to kill of Stiles, there's no fun in setting of a creature possessed to be destroyed and then just destroy it. They wouldn't dare!

I'm loving this half of the season so much. I can't believe I'm even watching the same show after how terrible 3A was.

THAT... I feel like they rewarped the mythology in a good way and it feels much more like a new season than a continuation to me (which, lets face it, with a hiatus like that it is a new season). I like the bits of Asian canon we got and that Scott's true Alphaness got backbenched enough to make him skirt the Gary Stu at a bearable level. Not sure about the love connection stuffs, but eeeh, I can deal with that as long as Stiles stays unconsciously evily badass. And they get that thing out of him without him dying.

It just feels so good to be emotionally invested in what's happening again, not just with Stiles (although I'm totally in love with Stiles' story arc right now), but all the characters, including the new ones. In 3A, I couldn't possibly have cared less about the alpha pack if I tried, so that made for a pretty draggy season since they took up so much of it for so little reason.

I thought the Alpha Pack was set up way too strong as a villain for all they were sitting around like 80% of the time doing nothing but evil 'bruhahahaha, we're so badass', but not actually making out to be a tangible threat. And basically all of their characters were no better than cut-out cardboard. Plus, just throwing new characters out there - like the girl saving Issac in the premiere which was never really addressed properly to do more than tie up a couple of narrative loose ends - without backstopping them in any way and just expecting us to go 'uhuh, ok then' was something I really didn't appreciate.
I'm glad that they went into the second half with much tighter focus and more interactive character lines for the cast to get somewhere.
