1. I've been obsessed with that shot from Swan Song ever since I first saw it, because I think it's one of the most amazing pieces of cinematography we got on the show EVER. I loved the light-flare effect and the absolutely beautiful colouring of the eye. So when I found a HD-still of it, I had to make it into an eyecon (if you browse through my icons, you'll notice it's a thing, though to be honest, I have absolute no idea where it came from. Boys all have pretty eyes though *mad-serialkiller-cackle*) and it's been my default image for ... maybe two or three years now? I haven't tired of it in the slightest.




2. Took with permission from my friend frozenglibber, because when I first saw her use it, I was like 'THAT IS ME, SOMEONE MADE ME INTO AN ICON, WHAT?!?!?!' (you realize the truth in that yet?) so whenever I'm particularly excited and stoked by something, this comes out. In my mind that is FancatFlail #1.




3. Made by my bestie insane_songbird from her absolutely gorgeous shots of the boys at A€CON 2 (Asylum Europe Convention, when was that... 2010 I think). It was the second con we attended together, first time we saw the boys (I actually got to ask Jensen a question at the single panel, then went on to a virtually empty autograph line with Jared - cause we'd left the panel a couple of minutes early - and proceeded to swoon in an incredibly starstruck way that thoroughly embarrassed me afterwards, but he was so amazing) This is from the closing J2 panel where they were just in such a great mood and goofing of on stage like no tomorrow. One of my fondest memories in the fan-circuit.




4. I can't remember anymore who I stole that from, but the first time I saw it around fandom I HAD to have it, because it encompasses everything about a really good WTF that you need to express. It comes out en lieu of fandom wank, outrageous policies and as social commentary, because let's face it, with that icon, any further comment is obsolete. *lol*




5. Another one of the few icons I've created myself (by loading pictures into the icon thingy and adjusting the cropping, so no artistry whatsoever on my part!) I'm not sure if I've actually ever used it before - I tend to be lazy with selecting alternate icons to my default, though I have really awesome one - but I love the sigil and the light effects even though it's very difficult to find a decent still of it (in fact this one's not very good either, but I have my imagination).



So... yeah, that's my icon stories.

LOL... well, isn't that what fandom actually is most of the time? But hey, there's a nice part and then there's the offshore anon-bermuda-triangle-of-doom (actually someone once made a fandom map of SPN a la LotR's it was pretty awesome!).
