Warnings/Spoilers: set post s5, the apocalypse happened, but not the way it happened, au past 5x14, nobody went to hell, or got to be vesselized.

 

Summary: The apocalypse has come and gone, and the Winchesters are following the trodden paths: saving people, hunting things, the family business. When a call from the past serves them a new case, they have no idea how much it’s going to be the family’s business. And as the brothers discover just how wild this hunt is going to be, there might be a new destiny in the making.

Author's Note & Acknowledgements:

I like to read those myself, but I'm always put off if there's a huge ammount of text littered with lj-names no one can really read without getting eye cancer, so I'll try to keep it short and simple.

This is my first big bang, well actually it's the first time I take part in any kind of these challenges and being a non-native, but even more being a slow slow writer pushed me to the limits with the word count and deadlines. It didn't help that I had to abandon the story that was originally intended to be my big bang at 8 k and start from scratch just about ten short weeks before writer's drafts were due. Still, it was a great experience to take part in that challenge and I'd very much like to thank the mods and organizers for their effort and the huge amount of time they spend on this every year.

insane_songbird : You're very much the other half of my brain and we've achieved so much together. Thanks... for getting through with your bb so fast that I couldn't let my pride down and not finish, ... for supporting my decision in switching fics half-way through and cheering me on... and for letting go of the reigns of that artsy horse on this one. Scary prospect, but I think it worked out.

misshapenmuse : My original artist who was very much willing to jump in and do the first times all with me. Sadly you had to wave the challenge due to health reasons, I was very much looking forward to what you'd have come up with.

wave_obscura : My fabulous and absolutely huggle-worthy pinch-hitting artist who did such a wonderful job on the imagery of this story in a short time. Pleasure working with you, dear, though I wish you'd had more time to go through with those visions on the other scenes, sadly RL is more important.

Naaaaah, trust me, the High Middle Ages are veeeeery very good at making their own drama (this one's true too btw)

Just finished reading this, and I absolutely loved it. The imagery was so vivid and my heart was racing all through that last chapter (which was like woah- amazing).

Oh... think I know what might be the problem... after those 15 second-tick-down thing it goes back to the page, did you try hitting 'download' again? because when I did that the download opened.
