To my flist of native speakers (and others if they're up to it)

I have a vocabulary and idiom seminar at uni this semester and our teacher asked us this week to find words in English that have roots in German, like for example angst, kindergarden, doppelganger, stuff like that. So, if you know any words you know or at least suspect to be German in origin, drop me a line here? I'm looking forward to what you can come up with!

kaputt
sauerkraut
Volkswagen
Gestalt
Zeitgeist
kitschy
blitz
blitzkrieg
bratwurst
cobalt
delicatessen
ersatz
frankfurter
wiener
glockenspiel

kaffeeklatsch
pilsner
pretzel
quartz
rucksack
schnaps
schuss
spritzer

waltz
wanderlust
brake
dote
tackle
aufeis
loess
dollar

Hope this helps!

HEy, that's an interesting list... I mean, there are even words on there that look German alright, I don't even know them... oh, this is going to be fun.
Thank you!
