Summary: When Pvt. Jared Padalecki gets gravely injured in combat, he receives highly advanced and experimental treatment that barely saves his life. He comes out of it forever changed and struggling with a shitload emotional baggage. His biggest challenge however is facing the man who saved his life and made him what he is now.
A/N: Ok, so this was supposed to have been a big bang for last year, but yeah you see now how that turned out. However, I endeavoured to still give the story the format and enlisted an incredible staff of collaborators to bring this story to you. the ones that hopefully made it home save and the ones that unfortunately had to stay home for this fantastic weekend. I just want to tell you that I had the epic time of my life, which you'll be hearing all about in my upcoming con-report (yes, I took notes) Just let me say this before I go to bed... Richard Speight Jr. is fricking AWESOME.

Well, as comfortable as you can be leading an EOD unit tasked with the disposal of land mines in an outback stretch of the Afghan desert.
